Erection of bottom section of 23 wind towers at Starfish Hills Wind Farm

Challenge

The transportation of 23 sections (20 metres in length and each weighing 25 tonnes) from the manufacturing plant at Portland to the Starfish Hills site.

Solution

Oversize loads on low loaders with pilot and following vehicles over a predetermined route which could accommodate the dimensions and weight of the trucks.
